Switched kmx.io DNS authoritative servers to our own nsd(8) instances on OpenBSD current
Today we switched to our own DNS servers hosted using nsd(8) on OpenBSD current.
The servers are ns1.kmx.io and ns2.kmx.io and should serve as before with a few minor changes.
We used to host our DNS zones from OVH and still do for a part of them (DNS Anycast). Will make the switch over during the next weeks. I want to make sure everything works ok before changing other domains.
The kmx.io zones were moved in a couple of hours and are serving this very page right now, if your computer has asked for a *.kmx.io webpage or service it probably resolved the address from our NS records that are the new servers.
In the end there is also dynamic zone reloading options offered by nsd.conf(5) so maybe I'll also try to offer to host other people's DNS records !
Contact kmx.io to get your dns zone hosted by us ! If your have your own domain you can configure the delegation of NS records. Once the NS records are set to ns1.kmx.io and ns2.kmx.io then they will answer queries for your own internet domain name.
